This article looks at a type of business incubator widespread in Brazilian universities that has had very positive results in developing entrepreneurship in the most deprived areas. The findings suggest there is the potential to transfer this model to other contexts. Our study invites other universities around the world that want to become more involved in the social and economic development of their local communities to learn from the Brazilian experience.
