This article analyzes the restructuring dynamics of the video game industry in France following a period of crisis. We describe how the formation of local cooperative dynamics and different types of organized proximity within several geographical territories helped those involved in the sector to cope with this crisis. We also put into perspective the role of an interterritorial cooperative dynamic and a collective meta-governance that intervened to regulate relations between the different territories and their local dynamics. Based on these insights, we discuss the main differences between the concepts of cluster and ecosystem.
