The regional Observatory of social diversity and educational achievement was created in 2011 and ran until December 2015. This article proposes a narrative and an analysis of this original experience, which brought together politicians, researchers and educational stakeholders in order to define and implement public action. The Observatory enabled the financing and communication of unpublished studies on inequalities in education at the regional level as well as the definition of new public policies in support of high schools, for example in terms of budget and educational action.
