Commitment and Mobilization of Parents on School Matters

Par : Contributeur(s) : Type de matériel : TexteTexteLangue : français Détails de publication : 2003. Ressources en ligne : Abrégé : The study of a conflict centered on whether to keep primary schools in the ZEP programme, gives some clear figures illustrating the more general nature of commitment and mobilization on school matters. Mobilization, which was analyzed from retrospective accounts of its various protagonists, shows how it is possible for local movements to take part in non-specific claims, without however forgetting the initial reasons for dissatisfaction. This means of access with a justified cause reaching beyond the mediatization of the movement, has given it an inner strength. In fact, these types of action, coming from a local base, have brought into light questions of general interest that are presented and discussed. However, the closing of debate shows that although administration meets the parents’ initial claim with satisfaction, it refuses to recognize its legitimacy.
