Intrastate coordination, an essential element of the formulation of national policies towards the EU, is a subject of increasing importance for both scholars and policy makers. This article contributes to the growing debate on the subject of EU policy-making in the member states by means of an analysis of a specific element of the French EU policy coordination process : national coordination in Brussels. Both the methods of coordination employed and their effectiveness are analysed.
