Establishing partnerships is certainly a fine idea. It can be observed in the last few years in all segments of society and constitutes the thread running through official texts. It represents a strong conception of the relationship between social actors and formal organizations. In the context of education, the problem of the bonds between the school, teachers, pupils and their families is also nourished with the idea of partnership. However, establishing relational bonds within an educational system requires the initial identification of the goals and the stakes involved in such relational configurations. How distinct is the partnership between the school and other social actors from that of the goals and organizational modes of other structures in modern democracies?
