Perceptions of the credit policy of subsidiary banks by their stakeholders: What are the consequences in terms of organizational reform?

Par : Type de matériel : TexteTexteLangue : français Détails de publication : 2024. Sujet(s) : Ressources en ligne : Abrégé : The aim of this study is to understand stakeholders’ perception of the credit policy of subsidiary banks in a developing country. Thus, the data for the empirical study are collected through interviews with two categories of banking stakeholders, namely clients and intermediary managers of three Western bank subsidiaries in Cameroon. The interviews were conducted between November 2022 and March 2023 in the cities of Yaoundé and Douala, where most of the sampled bank branches are located. The thematic content analysis reveals that the relevance of the problems posed by clients is deconstructed by the banks’ intermediary managers. The study assumes that this deconstruction, understood as a veiled form of resistance to change, contributes to the complexity of the decision to modify the relational orientation of subsidiary banks in their credit relationship with local companies.
