Les auteurs proposent une chronologie des concepts psychanalytiques autour de la question de l’autisme infantile, dans la lignée des travaux de Melanie Klein et d’Esther Bick. La méthode Bick a permis le développement d’une investigation psychanalytique fondée sur la capacité d’observation minutieuse, au cours des séances de psychothérapie, du langage corporel des enfants autistes ainsi que des vécus induits dans les thérapeutes eux-mêmes. Ces recherches sont à l’origine d’un approfondissement de certains aspects psychopathologiques concernant la genèse des mécanismes autistiques. Elles ont également permis de mieux décrire les premières étapes de la construction du Moi corporel (et ses avatars) fondée sur l’articulation de la vie émotionnelle et du jeu des identifications primaires au cours du tout premier développement.

The authors undertake a chronology of psychoanalytic concepts concerning the issue of childhood autism, following the contributions of Melanie Klein and Esther Bick. The Bick method has allowed the development of a psychoanalytic investigation based on the careful observation of the body language of autistic children, as well as the experiences induced in the therapists themselves during psychotherapy sessions, opening to a deeper understanding of certain psychopathological aspects concerning the genesis of autistic mechanisms. These research efforts have also facilitated a better understanding of the early stages of the construction of the body Ego, and its avatars, based on the articulation of emotional life and the interplay of primary identifications during the very early stages of development.
