The purpose of this research is to study the effect of financial constraints on investments by listed family businesses in the Arab world, by means of a comparative study with listed non-family businesses. The study was conducted using panel data econometrics and a sample of 337 listed companies, of which 151 are family-owned. Our results corroborate the hypothesis of the predominance of financial constraints in the case of listed medium-sized firms, and the greater sensitivity of investment to liquidity in the case of listed medium-sized family businesses. This is a new finding that contributes to improving our understanding of the resilience factors of listed family firms in the Arab world.
