The hegemony of the English language and of anglophone journals raises lively debates in the humanities and social sciences (HSS) in non-English speaking areas. It impedes the paths of thought, its expression and dissemination. It also undermines theoretical and empirical pluralism and complicates the management of research. This essay discusses the issues at play for research in the Business & Society field. Therefore, it proposes counter-hegemonic strategies to be deployed at the level of academic journals: 1) promoting research in the French language, 2) inclusive knowledge diffusion, 3) theoretical pluralism, 4) empirical pluralism, and 5) reterritorialization of research. These proposals aim to establish the conditions to create disruptive scientific knowledge on social and ecological transitions.
