Our study focuses on a temporary help facility for women victims of domestic violence set up during the 2020 spring lockdown. This state measure resulted in an unprecedented networking of very different organisations in the field of women and gender issues. This study highlights two major trends in the field of violence against women and in welfare policies. Firstly, public-private partnerships policies strengthen competition between non-profit groups, where disagreements eventually concern the very definition of violence. Secondly, the study emphasises difficulties coming along with the plan to develop outreach methods. Indeed, “malls” appear to be at odds with the usual practices of (feminist) intervention. As the mission of this facility expands towards “equality”, practitioners are confronted with new situations.
