Social Workers in the Context of Digital Transformations

Identified research works reveal positive effects, which contribute to improving the quality of social services. In a context of increased technological tools usage, social workers must develop new technical and communication skills and assume new roles. Social work dematerialisation has also largely transformed interactions between these professionals and beneficiaries. When new technologies are perceived as a threat to professional values, social workers may resist and resort to strategies to avoid them. Successful implementation of digital technologies in social work requires that they be used to support the work of social workers.
