Crowdsourced delivery as a business model has become increasingly successful over the past decade. It is based on an original organizational framework that leverages the public’s untapped logistical resources and entrusts them with aspects of last-mile delivery. This business model is an offshoot of the sharing economy and creates new intermediaries who own exchange platforms. The article aims to better understand the basics of crowdsourced delivery, using by way of illustration four fictional management scenarios that suggest stimulating avenues for future research.
