The aim of this paper is to identify the combinations and configurations of factors influencing the inclusion of CSR into a company’s strategy. We focus on a class of worker cooperatives in France ( sociétés coopératives et participatives) (SCOP) which have recently chosen to publish information concerning their CSR efforts. Taking a qualitative comparative approach (QCA) and its recent extension, coincidence analysis (CNA), we examine responses to a national questionnaire. The results show various combinations of factors, revealing interactions that go beyond what structural and strategic accounts of worker cooperatives would suggest.
