The importance of emotional intelligence and level of education in the relationship between transformational leadership style and employee creativity

The aim of this paper is to study the effect of the transformational leadership style on employee creativity, taking into account the mediating role of emotional intelligence as well as level of education as a covariate. The results of our survey of 394 employees working in the Tunisian manufacturing sector and with varying levels of education show that the variables falling within our study’s scope have positive and significant effects on the creativity of employees. In addition, emotional intelligence can play an important mediating role, and higher-level employees are much more creative than their colleagues, suggesting managerial implications in terms of improving performance.
