Such is the ambition of the twenty-one authors and eight articles in this issue, bringing cultural diversity to Francophone thought, which is the subject of this issue’s opinion piece featuring extensive exploration of the question (page 27). With this issue, we wanted to fling open the doors and invite new perspectives on this topic. With this in mind, Gilles Paché, the esteemed author of this issue’s reading notes, also plays his part in broadening the reach of management science. With his trademark concision and striking style, he turns his gaze to a work of great importance, Free to Obey: How the Nazis Invented Modern Management (page 139). To complement this editorial choice, it seemed appropriate to present it alongside a remarkable piece from Rémy Février as a sort of epigraph: “The legitimacy of management science in the study of terrorist organizations: The example of Islamic State” (page 12). After all, isn’t debate the very core of research? It is the role of academic journals to promote the progress of a discipline by publishing research and encouraging debates on theory, so don’t be scared—let’s dive in and find a new way of thinking about management science.
