The article offers a brief overview of the studies devoted to Pierre de La Ramée, known as Ramus (1515-1572) and to Ramism since 2000, the date of the last assessment established by Peter Sharratt (1939-2014), to whom the symposium pays tribute. This is followed by a bibliography (2005-2018), shared almost equally between studies on Ramus and those devoted to his reception and the international dissemination of Ramism. The three fields of research identified by Sharratt between 1987 and 2000 (the debate on Ramus’ “humanism”, the definition of “Ramism” and the highlighting of its social and political context) confirmed their fruitfulness, and we observe a renewal of research on conflicts and controversies, and on Ramus’ relationships with science, law and politics.
