User-centered design corresponds to how designers take into account human behavior, motivation, and context in the design of products or services. For this purpose, ethnography— understood here as field research—has been appropriated by designers for thirty years. However, although the observation and interview methods are well documented, the transfer of the material produced with these approaches is scarcely addressed. Based on a research study we conducted with interaction designers, this article presents this translation of field results into design.
