Toward drawing/designing algorithms: Integrating design into the conception of a data visualization

Nevertheless, their digital property makes them calculable by means of algorithms, so that new knowledge can be developed and the mobility needs of an area can be anticipated. The SNCF has carried out multidisciplinary exploratory research on this topic. In this complex context, innovating together is a challenge: how can we create a common language to shape new perspectives from immaterial “digital matter” that is stripped of meaning? The innovation through design approach has made it possible to facilitate a collaboration between the different parties involved, and to generate innovative algorithms in an iterative fashion, regarding the various data processing methods, and in particular making them readable and explorable.
