Quite classically, contemporary Jewish writers using French language use their experiences, among which their biographical experiences, as a literary object. For instance, identity, including what is implicated through the relation to French language, can irrigate the writing. Quite symmetrically, it is possible to show — through such a writer as Georges Perec — that writing can also be a source for identity, by revivifying it, or even reviving it. However, the relation through writing and Jewish identity is solely recognized by critics, in particular the community press, through a relatively classic conception of identity.
