This paper is based on interviews with local volunteering supervisors. It questions the type of commitment at work within this Scout association. Above all, it highlights the structuring effect of grassroots commitment that helps maintain the associative dynamics. Furthermore, grassroots commitment underscores the process of professionalization and openness the association has embarked on in recent years.
