Symptomatic deep venous thrombosis of the upper limb after pacemaker implantation: A case report and literature review
Type de matériel :
39
Symptomatic upper extremity deep vein thrombosis (DVT) after pacemaker implantation is a rare complication. Several contributing factors have been identified. The diagnosis is based on clinical arguments, but confirmation is provided by ultrasound, even though venography remains the gold standard. We report a case of DVT after implantation of a double chamber-pacemaker, in which the diagnosis was made by repeat venous Doppler ultrasound of the upper limb.
