RésuméL’article traite de l’évolution des « sciences » du peuple – folklore, ethnographie, ethnologie – après la libération de la Bulgarie et la création d’un État national. Il en évoque les aspects institutionnels : musées, archives, instituts académiques, les grandes figures : Arnaudov, Vakarelski, Dinekov, les implications sociales et politiques, les problèmes et les contradictions conceptuels et méthodologiques.

The paper is concerned with the evolution of « folk-lore » – folklore, ethnography, ethnology – after the liberation of Bulgaria and the creation of a national state. Particular attention is given to its institutional aspects – museums, archives, academic institutions – great figures, such as Arnaudov, Vakarelski, Dinekov, social and political implications, conceptual and methodological problems.

ZusammenfassungDer Aufsatz befasst sich mit der Entwicklung der Volkswissenschaften – Folklore, Völkerkunde, Volkskunde – nach der Befreiung Bulgariens und der Schöpfung eines nationalen Staats. Er erinnert an ihre institutionale Aspekte – Museen, Archive, Akademische Institute – an ihre wichtige Figuren, wie Arnaudov, Vakarelski, Dinekov und an ihre soziale und politische Auswirkungen, konzeptuale und methodologische Fragen.
