RésuméL’article analyse les mutations de l’imaginaire identitaire bulgare à travers les nouvelles pratiques muséales et folkloriques. Orientées par définition à la fois vers l’espace national et vers l’extérieur, dépendant à la fois de l’État et des sponsors étrangers, ces pratiques manifestent une tension schizophrène entre mono- et multiculturalisme, histoire téléologique et périodisation de l’histoire, centralisme et régionalisme, européanisme officiel et orientalisme quotidien.

Transformations of Bulgarian identity in people’s imagination are analyzed on the basis of new museal and folkloric practices. These practices which concern both the national space and foreign spaces and depend both on the State and on foreign sponsors, reveal a schiozophrenic tension between mono- and multiculturality, teleological history and periodization of history, centralism and regionalism, official europeanism and everyday orientalism.

ZusammenfassungDie Änderungen der bulgarischen Identitätsvorstellungen werden auf der Grundlage der neuen musealen und folkloristischen Praktiken untersucht. Diese Pratiken, die zugleich In- und Ausland betreffen, vom Staat und fremden Sponsoren abhängen, offenbaren eine schisophrene Spannung zwischen Mono- und Multikulturalismus, teleologischer Gechichte und der Periodisierung der Gechichte, Zentralismus und Regionalismus, offiziellem Europäertum und alltäglichem Orientalismus.
