RésuméL’exil politique a surtout suscité l’intérêt des historiens du mouvement ouvrier international et de l’émigration. En complémentarité avec ces démarches, cet article se propose d’envisager une autre approche, celle des transferts culturels et politiques. Ceux-ci sont analysés à travers l’écriture d’exilés inconnus ou célèbres, de leur rencontre avec l’autre et des enjeux complexes de la compétence linguistique. Cette approche souhaite aussi se distinguer par la multiplicité des outils qu’elle emprunte à d’autres sciences sociales. C’est à une réflexion sur la segmentation des champs d’analyse et à leurs contraintes qu’elle propose d’aboutir tout en préservant chaque angle de vue.

Political exile has above all aroused the interest of historians of the international labour movement and of emigration. This article proposes to adopt, alongside these viewpoints, the approach of cultural and political transfer. These phenomena are analysed through the writings of both unknown and famous exiles, their encounter with the other and the complex stakes involved in linguistic skills. This approach also seeks to stand out by the number of tools it has borrowed from the social sciences. It is an attempt to think about the segmentation of fields of analysis and their constraints, while at the same time preserving each viewpoint.
