Dans cet entretien, le philosophe Mohamad Amer Meziane revient sur le concept d’« impérialité », forgé au cours de ses recherches sur l’articulation entre sécularisation, colonisation et économie extractiviste. Il montre comment ce concept, ne se réduisant ni au fait colonial ni à l’impérialisme occidental, qui ne sont que certaines de ses manifestations historiques, s’applique au domaine du savoir. Cela l’amène à évoquer l’impérialité de la philosophie et de l’anthropologie, la manière dont il envisage la relation entre ces deux disciplines, à l’intersection desquelles se situe son travail.

‪In this interview, the philosopher Mohamad Amer Meziane explains the concept of “imperiality”, which he coined in the course of his research on the articulation between secularization, colonization and the extractivist economy. He shows how this concept, which cannot be reduced to Western colonialismor imperialism, representing only some of its historical manifestations, applies to the field of knowledge. This leads him to evoke the imperiality of philosophy and anthropology in the way he considers the relationship between these two disciplines, at the intersection of which his work is located.‪
