En dehors de son journal (août 89-juillet 91), on ne connaît de Louise de Kéralio-Robert (1756-1822), pendant la Révolution, que trois textes imprimés. Ils s’inscrivent dans l’avant-garde révolutionnaire : républicanisme dès 1790, lutte contre les Girondins en 92, intégration des femmes, par la cocarde, dans la société politique en 93. Si on y cherche le rôle assigné aux femmes, on y trouve l’affirmation d’une nature féminine spécifique et potentiellement dangereuse, l’assignation à la sphère domestique, le refus de tout droit politique, l’obsession du contrôle moral. Pionnière de l’activité politique féminine, Louise de Kéralio est aussi une pionnière du républicanisme sexiste.

These belong to the revolutionary the avant-garde: republicanism from 1790 on, the struggle against the Girondins in 92, the integration of women by the cocarde in political society in 93. If one tries to find in these writings the role assigned to women, one finds an affirmation of a specific feminine nature, potentially dangerous, her restriction to the domestic sphere, the refusal of any political rights, the obsession with moral control. A pioneer in women’s political activity, Louise de Kéralio is also a pioneer of sexist republicanism.
