Dans cet article, nous nous intéressons à la possibilité de l’augmentation morale par le biais de la stimulation cérébrale profonde (SCP). Après avoir défini ce en quoi consiste l’augmentation morale et écarté quelques objections prima facie que l’on peut faire à son endroit, cet article tente d’établir si l’augmentation morale par le biais de la SCP est empiriquement possible et soulève un ensemble de questions que poserait l’utilisation de ce genre de technologie dans le domaine de la cognition morale.

This article focuses on the possibility of moral augmentation through deep brain stimulation (DBS). Having defined what constitutes moral enhancement and dismissed some prima facie objections that one can make to it, this article attempts to establish whether moral enhancement through the DBS is empirically possible and raises a set of questions that would arise from the use of this kind of technology in the field of moral cognition.
