Par : Type de matériel : TexteTexteLangue : français Détails de publication : 2020. Ressources en ligne : Abrégé : This paper examines the reception of the Epistre Othea, written by Christine de Pizan around 1400, and later copied in the Erlangen manuscript, UB, 2361. This luxurious manuscript, which shows Philippe le Bon’s coat of arms, contains a great number of miniatures that break both with the text and the iconography the author and her illuminators designed. Particular attention is paid to images that seem to convey political meanings.By focusing on the uses of these images, this study aims to shed light on the issues underlying the modifications of the iconography. This article suggests that these innovative miniatures were means of visual persuasion at the service of the Duke of Burgundy.
