La question de la population dans l’œuvre de Jean-Baptiste Say est un thème très peu abordé par la littérature secondaire. Les quelques travaux existants se limitent à mentionner certains éléments théoriques de l’auteur dans des études globales de la question. Ce faisant, aucune approche n’étudie réellement la manière dont la théorie de la population de Say est liée aux principaux éléments de sa théorie économique. Pourtant, cette étude s’avère fondamentale pour comprendre les différences de sa théorie de la population de celle de Thomas Robert Malthus qui fait référence en la matière.

The limited existing works, which consist of general studies on the question, only refer to some theoretical elements of Say’s theory. No approach actually examines how Say’s theory of population is related to the main elements of his economic theory. Studying this link is fundamental in order to understand the differences between Say’s theory of population and Thomas Robert Malthus’s referential theory on the topic.
