Est-il possible que, dans notre façon de penser la psychanalyse, le sinthome de Lacan se substitue sans reste au symptôme freudien ? Sans doute non, et, d’ailleurs, ce n’est pas plus souhaitable, sauf à faire resurgir certaines des vieilles ambiguïtés de la relation de l’analyste à la vérité.

Is it possible that, in our way to think psychoanalysis, the Lacan’s sinthome substitutes itself for the Freudian symptom without any remainder ? Doubtless no, and, besides, it is not more desirable, unless to induce the reappearance of the old ambiguities in the relation between the analyst and the truth.
