Qu’en est-il du rapport à la vieillesse dans un contexte où les progrès technologiques génèrent de profondes transformations dans le rapport au corps, au monde et à l’autre ? L’auteur interroge la place de plus en plus grandissante qu’occupe le numérique dans la vie et dans les institutions de soins pour personnes âgées sous forme d’appareillages divers : informatique, robotique, puces et objets connectés… Ce questionnement tente de présentifier la complexité des enjeux éthiques, subjectifs et sociétaux auxquels nous confronte aujourd’hui le numérique.

This article discusses the issues of ageing in the context of technological advances, which have profoundly transformed our relationship to the body, the world around us and others in it. It questions the growing importance of digital technologies – IT and robotic systems, chips and connected devices – in the lives of the elderly and in the institutions that care for them. This discussion would like to highlight the complexity of the ethical, subjective and social issues that digital technologies confront us with today.
