RésuméComment de la continuité peut naître la discontinuité ? À cette question, l’analyse de la notion d’événement apporte un certain éclairage. Trois exemples d’ampleur et de nature différentes – l’affaire dite DSK, une intervention auprès d’une équipe de soins psychiatriques, une recherche conduite dans le contexte du conflit israélo-palestinien – montrent comment un événement prend sens et peut devenir source de changement, lorsque ses implications, aux plans psychologique et social, font l’objet d’un travail d’élaboration et d’analyse collectives.

The enigma of the eventHow can continuity give birth to discontinuity ? An analysis of the notion of event allows us to throw some light on this question. Three examples of a different scale and nature – the so-called DSK affair, an intervention with a team of psychiatric carers, and a research project carried out within the context of the Israelo-Palestinian conflict – show how an event takes on meaning and can become a source of change when its implications, at the psychological and social levels, are the object of a work of collective elaboration and analysis.
