TexteLangue : français Détails de publication : 2023.
Ressources en ligne : Abrégé : The rate of pregnancy among minors and the rate of high school drop-outs are much higher in French Guyana than in other DOMs and in mainland France. This article investigates the conditions of school support for pregnant adolescents and new mothers in Guyana and the role of the education institution in identifying, supporting, and preventing school drop-outs among these girls. It shows that in spite of the large number of teen pregnancies, the fact that these young people are often unfamiliar with the school institution and the protocols in place, accentuates inequalities and makes it illusory for many students to consider continuing study.
