Type de matériel :

Drawing from interviews with mothers and their daughters about the first time they had their periods, this paper aims to show that puberty has an impact on how parents define their daughters and their status. These transformations also lead parents to pass on new body norms to their daughters, which affect the way they live the transformations of puberty and their feminine identity. The paper also stresses the need to analyze representations and parental educational attitudes in order to understand the transitions between the various ages of life.
