La problématique révolutionnaire des droits sociaux frappe par son ambivalence: si elle se révèle, par plusieurs de ses traductions, extrêmement datée, vieillie et dépassée, elle se révèle aussi, par certaines de ses lignes de force, éminemment moderne, anticipatrice et fondatrice. De là la nécessité, pour faire ressortir ce balancement constant entre des conceptions désuètes et des principes toujours actuels, de montrer en quoi il y a, d’hier à aujourd’hui, à la fois continuité des solutions et solutions de continuité en matière de protection sociale.

The Issue of Social Rights during the Revolution : between Archaism and ModernityThe revolutionary approach to social rights is strikingly ambivalent : in many ways extremely backward, old-fashioned and outdated, certain of its more forceful manifestations are eminently modern, anticipatory and trail-blazing. Hence the need, in order to highlight this constant wavering between outmoded conceptions and still relevant principles, to address both the continuity of solutions and the solutions of continuity that have emerged, from yesterday to to-day, in the field of social security.
