La radicalisation islamiste, qui est une articulation du religieux avec la politique et l’histoire, est un phénomène du registre collectif qui résonne au niveau individuel. On peut le voir du point de vue psychanalytique comme un symptôme. Nous devons « attraper » cela par nos moyens de l’analyse, par une écoute singulière de la personne. Ce que les djihadistes nous révèlent, c’est qu’un individu fait face au problème d’en devenir un aujourd’hui. Pour penser à la subjectivité avec laquelle nous travaillons, nous avons mené une recherche en maison d’arrêt à partir d’entretiens d’inspiration psychanalytique, avec des détenus pour association de malfaiteurs en relation avec une entreprise terroriste. L’objectif de la recherche a été de comprendre les enjeux subjectifs de la radicalisation islamique aujourd’hui. Il s’agira ici de penser à partir d’un cas clinique exposé, les processus qui ont amené une personne vers son acte singulier pris dans un phénomène collectif, culturel et historique. La recherche d’un idéal et des limites, sont parmi les enjeux clés qui ont pu amener un jeune à partir en Syrie et de risquer sa vie.

Islamist radicalization, which is a structure linking religion, politics and history, is a phenomenon in the collective register that resonates at the individual level. From the psychoanalytic point of view it may be seen as a symptom. We must “pick up” on this by our means of analysis, by listening to the person in a very particular way. What the jihadis show us is that today an individual is faced with the problem of whether or not to become one (a jihadist). In order to think about the subjectivity with which we work, I have done some research in a prison on the basis of psychoanalytically-oriented interviews with inmates charged with conspiring with a terrorist organization. The aim of the research was to understand the subjective issues involved in Islamic radicalization today. A clinical case is presented with the aim of reflecting on the processes that led someone towards their singular act, while being caught up in a collective, cultural and historical phenomenon. The quest for an ideal and limits are among the key issues which led a young person to leave for Syria and to risk his life.
