Dans la clinique transculturelle d’aujourd’hui, la théorie freudienne peut-elle sans dommage se confronter à d’autres conceptions culturelles du rêve ? Pour réfléchir à cette question, nous proposons d’approfondir le concept d’élaboration secondaire - concept charnière entre psychisme et culture - et de parcourir rapidement les travaux de deux pionniers dans le champs transculturel, Roheim et Devereux. Ensuite nous analyserons en détail le rêve d’une patiente marocaine dans le contexte d’une thérapie ethnopsychanalytique à Bruxelles. Nous verrons que la psychanalyse n’a finalement rien à craindre de cette mise à l’épreuve de l’altérité culturelle !

In the current transcultural psychoanalytic therapy, is it possible to confront the Freudian theory with other cultural conceptions of the dream? To consider this question, we propose to study the “secondary elaboration” of the dream - which is a link-concept between psyche and culture ; then we shall review the works of two pioneers in the transcultural fields: Roheim and Devereux. Finaly we’ll analyze in detail the dream of a Moroccan woman in the context of an ethnopsychoanalytic therapy in Brussels. And we’ll see that psychoanalysis has finaly nothing to fear about this confrontation to other’s cultural thinking and conception !
