La pathologie contemporaine se pare de différents visages et se décline dans les services de psychiatrie sous la forme d’identités. Pourtant, les dénominations pathologiques se renouvellent avec l’époque, ce qui n’est pas sans interroger la validité et la pertinence de certains diagnostics dont nos patients portent le nom, comme si le mal-être inhérent à notre condition d’être parlant décrit par Freud dans « Malaise dans la civilisation » n’avait plus de pertinence. Dans ce contexte se posent les questions de l’actualité des pathologies contemporaines et de l’attribution d’un diagnostic avec l’effet d’identité qu’elle produit sur les patients. Le travail du psychanalyste en psychiatrie porte sur la place à faire au réel auquel les patients ont à faire en vue d’un réaménagement sinthomatique ou sublimatoire permettant un renouage au social et une liberté d’être.

Contemporary pathology is adorned with different faces and declined in psychiatric services in the form of identities. Yet, the pathological denominations are renewed with the times, which is not without questioning the validity and relevance of some diagnoses of which our patients bear the name, as if the evil being inherent to our condition of being described by Freud in Malaise dans la civilisation no longer had relevance.In this context the questions of the timeliness of contemporary pathologies and the attribution of a diagnosis with the effect of identity it produces on patients are raised. The work of the psychoanalyst in psychiatry focuses on the place to be in the real world that patients have to make for a sinthomatic or sublimatorial redevelopment that allows social renewal and freedom of being.
