While the majority of the Gezi resistance are women, the published reports and analyses underestimate this “female” characteristic and focus instead on the new language of the resistance. This article wishes to remedy this omission by giving voice to the activist women of Gezi. The author first observes what the emergence of a new type of individualism, solidarity individualism, means for Turkish society, and its impact on the subjectivation of young female activists or their elders. Then she asks about the creation of new types of organisation and alter-activism, attempting to comprehend what differentiates this new type of activism from the one inherited from the previous generation.
