This chronicle offers a review of publications on wood in antiquity, together with a presentation of archaeological discoveries concerning this material. All uses of wood in ancient societies are considered, with particular attention paid to its structural and architectural uses. The area covered includes the entire Mediterranean basin, the Near and Middle East, continental Europe and the British Isles.
