Research and Clinical Practices on the Siblings of Disabled People : Assessment and Prospects

Par : Contributeur(s) : Type de matériel : TexteTexteLangue : français Détails de publication : 2017. Ressources en ligne : Abrégé : Following a reminder of the functions and the basis of sibling bonds from childhood to adulthood, the authors (practitioners and researchers) raise the issue of the impact that disability and mental illness have on those bonds. Working on the basis of practice in patient care and systematized research, they emphasize three themes that deserve to be explored more thoroughly in the future : intra-fraternal abuse ; the period of adulthood and above all that of the aging of people with disabilities ; and finally the need to better understand and to take into account the subjective experience of the person affected by disability within the scope of their relations and interactions with their brothers and sisters throughout their lives.
