Towards a society without judges?

Par : Type de matériel : TexteTexteLangue : français Détails de publication : 2022. Sujet(s) : Ressources en ligne : Abrégé : The corpus of utopias and science fiction has long been the preserve of literary studies, politics even. And yet, from the seminal work of Sir Thomas More through to Isaac Asimov’s robots capable of judging, they reveal much about both the technical and cultural aspects of justice in real societies. The figure of the judge is envisaged in these works in terms of their function, the range of their competencies and even the nature of their authority. What if, in the future, there were no more judges? This essay opens the door to a particularly fertile legal laboratory, at a time when we are facing the temptation of predictive justice and worries about the forthcoming reign of the algorithm.
