It analyses the effects of being a woman and mixed-race researcher, working with actors living in extreme poverty in a country characterized by an authoritarian regime. The article questions how considering gender, race, ethnicity, and class in the researcher-informant fieldwork study relations can lead to rethinking a research method and object.
