The author develops Paul-Claude Racamier’s concept of “framework” as a form of authority that precedes both the therapeutic team and patients group. In the article, they precisely outline the institutional framework established at the Centre Psychothérapique de la Velotte in Besançon. A clinical vignette illustrates the notion of “demarcation,” which is a “group speaking action” that speaks as much to the patient on the margins of care as to the whole group giving the signal. This leads to the development of fundamental theoretical-clinical notions such as ambiguity, “Antoedipus,” and “primal mourning.”
