Injunction to benevolence in the school institution: Effects of influence for a teacher in the early stages of their career

Over the last few years, the exhortation to benevolence has been very present in the institutional texts and discourses in the French educational system. This article aims to demonstrate the necessity of questioning the subjectivation effects on teachers in order to gain insight into unconscious processes at work on the professional stage. A few elements of analysis from one clinical interview conducted with a primary school teacher show how benevolence and influence are inextricably connected in educational relationships.
