The Love of Transference, a Construction in the Psychotherapeutic Encounter with Drug-Addicted Women
Type de matériel :
54
The anamnesis of many drug-addicted women reveals the frequency of sexual traumas in childhood or adolescence. Resorting to drugs for them is the means of erasing the traumatic event from the memory. In the evocation of these traumatic stories in the psychotherapeutic encounter, passions are generally involved. Under the guise of transference, these passions can be revealed: passion of love, of hatred, and an addiction to the object which comes to replace the passion for toxic substances. These passions of transference, which do not yield to interpretation, are real constructions and have a substitution role. They reveal a specific position of these drug-addicted women concerning the question of being and of the relation to the object: a failure of radical recognition and a failure of the mourning process.
