Professional identity construction and interaction in cultural transition contexts In this manuscript, we discuss on professional identity construction among immigrant individuals in the process of reconstructing their national identity. Interactions between Self and Alter professionally located and integrated to their Identity System within the prism of sub-jectivity gives us access to these representations’ change mechanisms and to the role of affect in this process. A temporal dimension is linked to the dynamics between ethnocultural and professional representations. The analysis is followed by a case study presentation showing this interaction.
