The way work is organized and a new management are causes of profound disturbance in business. They have repercussions on social cohesion and the traditional forms of cooperation as well as of struggle. Unions are confronted with a weakening of work teams. The problem is accentuated by outsourcing and the significantly reduced number of workers in the home office. This destabilization has consequences for the vitality of the forces of opposition. The feeling of powerlessness which results sometimes leads to a true fatalism which affects not only the employees but the labor unionists as well. What mechanisms and new approaches can the actors call on to hope to act as counterbalance and reverse these tendencies?
