The Task of Maintaining Law and Order, Defensive Ideologies, and Social Imaginary
Type de matériel :
22
The clinical approach to the task of maintaining law and order and its institutional frameworks puts the emphasis here on the analysis of professional defensive ideologies as a response to reality-testing which all professional activity represents, but also as a response to the social imaginary inasmuch as it contributes to denying the fact that “dirty work” is delegated and to orienting the social image of these professions. The esprit de corps is nourished by a collective discourse that is ultra-security conscious: it is a reaction to the suspicion that hangs over these professionals, in this case the police and prison warders.
